PRODUCT INTRODUCTION JAZCOX TH

JAZCOX TH is a dual-action formulation combining an anti-inflammatory agent and a muscle relaxant. Etoricoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, reduces pain and inflammation while minimizing gastric side effects compared to traditional NSAIDs. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant that acts on GABA and glycine receptors, reducing muscle spasm and stiffness. Together, they provide effective relief in painful musculoskeletal conditions where both inflammation and muscle spasm are involved.

Indications and clinical use

JAZCOX TH is indicated in the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, back pain, cervical and lumbar spondylosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, muscle stiffness, and spasm associated with trauma or degenerative conditions. Use only under medical supervision.

Mechanism of action

Etoricoxib selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside exerts central muscle relaxant action through modulation of inhibitory neurotransmitters, leading to relief of painful muscle contractions and improved mobility. The combination offers both analgesic and muscle-relaxing effects.

Dosage and administration

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician. The dose and duration depend on the severity of pain, underlying condition, and patient tolerance. Take the tablet with water, with or without food. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or use long-term without medical advice.

Adverse effects and safety information

Common side effects include nausea, indigestion, abdominal discomfort, dizziness, somnolence, or mild diarrhoea. Etoricoxib may increase the risk of hypertension, oedema, and cardiovascular events in predisposed patients. Thiocolchicoside, at high doses or prolonged use, may cause gastrointestinal upset or rare neurological effects. If severe side effects such as chest pain, breathing difficulty, black stools, or seizures occur, seek immediate medical attention.

Contraindications and precautions

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to etoricoxib, thiocolchicoside, or related compounds. Not suitable for patients with active peptic ulcer disease, severe hepatic or renal impairment, uncontrolled hypertension, or known cardiovascular disease (such as heart failure, ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease). Thiocolchicoside should be used cautiously due to potential effects on fertility with long-term or high-dose use. Pregnant and lactating women should avoid unless prescribed.

Drug interactions

Etoricoxib may interact with anticoagulants (warfarin), antiplatelet agents, antihypertensives (ACE inhibitors, diuretics), and other NSAIDs. Thiocolchicoside may enhance the sedative effects of alcohol and CNS depressants. Inform your doctor of all medications being taken before starting JAZCOX TH.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place at temperatures below 25–30°C, away from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

When to consult a healthcare professional

Consult your doctor if pain persists despite treatment, if blood pressure rises significantly, or if symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, severe abdominal pain, black stools, seizures, or allergic reactions occur.
