OSTAMAN HD Chewable Tablets are a convenient mineral-vitamin supplement formulated to support bone strength, skeletal health, and metabolic balance. Calcium citrate provides highly bioavailable calcium that does not require stomach acid for absorption, making it suitable even for individuals with reduced gastric acidity. Magnesium contributes to bone structure and neuromuscular function, zinc supports immune health and enzymatic activity, and vitamin D₃ enhances calcium absorption and bone mineralisation. The chewable format ensures ease of administration and palatability.
OSTAMAN HD is intended for dietary supplementation in individuals at risk of calcium and vitamin D deficiency, such as those with inadequate dietary intake, postmenopausal women, older adults, or individuals with increased requirements. It may be prescribed in the management or prevention of osteoporosis, osteopenia, and other conditions where optimal bone mineral density and mineral supplementation are important. It can also be recommended as adjunctive therapy in cases of fractures, convalescence, or as part of general wellness support under professional supervision.
Calcium citrate supplies elemental calcium required for bone and tooth mineralisation, muscle contraction, nerve conduction, and blood coagulation. Magnesium contributes to bone structure and regulates parathyroid hormone activity. Zinc is vital for bone growth, tissue repair, and immune function. Vitamin D₃ (cholecalciferol) enhances intestinal calcium absorption and helps maintain normal serum calcium and phosphate levels, ensuring optimal mineral deposition in bone.
Chewable tablets should be taken as directed by a healthcare professional. Typical adult supplementation may be one tablet daily, preferably with meals, but dosing can vary based on age, deficiency status, and clinical need. Do not exceed the recommended dose without professional advice. The chewable format makes administration simple for those who have difficulty swallowing conventional tablets.
OSTAMAN HD is generally well tolerated. Some individuals may experience gastrointestinal discomfort such as bloating, constipation, or nausea. High or prolonged doses of calcium and vitamin D can lead to hypercalcaemia, which may cause excessive thirst, weakness, confusion, or kidney problems. Zinc taken in excess may interfere with copper absorption. If any severe reactions occur, discontinue use and consult a physician.
Do not use in patients with hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), severe renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to any of the components. Use caution in patients with heart disease, sarcoidosis, or other conditions affecting calcium/vitamin D metabolism. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use to ensure safe and adequate dosing.
Calcium and magnesium can interfere with absorption of certain antibiotics such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones, and also with bisphosphonates and thyroid hormone — these should be taken at least 2–4 hours apart. Thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcaemia when combined with vitamin D and calcium supplements. Always inform the healthcare provider about all concomitant medications and supplements.
Store in a cool, dry place at temperatures below 25–30°C, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly closed after use. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the packaging.
Seek medical advice if you experience persistent abdominal pain, kidney stone symptoms, severe constipation, allergic reactions, or symptoms suggestive of high blood calcium such as excessive thirst, weakness, or confusion. Consult your doctor if you have other chronic health conditions, are on multiple medications, or require long-term supplementation.
