OSTAMAN PLUS Suspension is a combined mineral and antacid formulation designed to support bone and mineral nutrition while providing symptomatic relief for occasional acidity. Each 5 mL supplies elemental calcium (250 mg) from calcium carbonate together with magnesium hydroxide (providing elemental magnesium 75 mg), zinc (2 mg as zinc gluconate) and vitamin D₃ (200 IU). Calcium and vitamin D₃ contribute to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. Magnesium and zinc play complementary roles in musculoskeletal and metabolic health. The magnesium hydroxide component also provides mild antacid/alginate-free relief for heartburn, sour stomach and indigestion.
Supportive mineral supplementation for bone health (calcium + vitamin D₃).
Adjunct therapy to help correct or prevent mild calcium deficiency (where prescribed).
Symptomatic relief of occasional heartburn, acid indigestion and sour stomach (antacid effect of magnesium hydroxide).
Provides zinc for general mineral support and immune health.
Prescription/OTC status: Follow local regulations — use under medical advice when used as a supplement or to correct deficiency.
Supplies elemental calcium and vitamin D₃ — important for bone mineralisation and maintenance.
Includes magnesium which supports bone structure and provides gentle antacid action.
Zinc supports normal immune function and metabolic processes.
Liquid suspension form — easy dosing for adults and children (use paediatric guidance).
Dual action: nutritional support + symptomatic relief of mild acidity.
Calcium carbonate: supplies elemental calcium; also neutralises gastric acid (antacid).
Magnesium hydroxide: neutralises stomach acid (antacid) and supplies magnesium.
Zinc gluconate: provides zinc for enzymatic and immune support.
Vitamin D₃ (cholecalciferol): aids calcium absorption and promotes bone mineralisation.
Follow your prescriber’s or product label instructions.
Typical adult/pediatric dosing varies by need — many liquid mineral products are taken one 5 mL spoonful once or twice daily with or after meals. For short-term antacid relief an extra 5 mL may be used as needed.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose on the product label or by your doctor.
If using for children, consult a paediatrician for exact dosing by age/weight and use the appropriate measuring device.
Important: This is general information only. Exact dose depends on age, clinical need and other medicines — always consult a healthcare professional.
Most people tolerate OSTAMAN PLUS well. Common, usually mild effects may include:
Temporary gastrointestinal changes: constipation or loose stools, abdominal discomfort, bloating.
Chalky taste or mild belching (from antacid action).
Rarely, allergic reactions (rash, itching).
With prolonged high doses: risk of hypercalcaemia (high blood calcium), altered kidney function or kidney stones — monitor if long-term use.
If you experience severe symptoms (severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, signs of hypercalcaemia such as excessive thirst, weakness, confusion, or allergic reaction), stop and seek medical attention.
Do not use if you have known hypersensitivity to any ingredient.
Use caution (or avoid) in patients with:
Hypercalcaemia or history of calcium kidney stones.
Severe renal impairment (magnesium/zinc and vitamin D handling may be altered).
Severe hepatic impairment (monitor per clinician).
Vitamin D supplementation should be used cautiously with disorders of calcium metabolism (e.g., hyperparathyroidism).
Long-term high-dose calcium and vitamin D should be supervised by a physician.
Calcium can reduce absorption of oral tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones and some bisphosphonates — separate dosing by 2–4 hours where possible.
Magnesium may interfere with absorption of certain antibiotics (same class interactions).
Zinc can reduce absorption of oral tetracyclines; high zinc may interfere with copper absorption.
Vitamin D interacts with some medications affecting calcium metabolism (thiazide diuretics, some anticonvulsants).
If you take other minerals, supplements, or prescription drugs, consult your doctor or pharmacist about timing and interactions.
Do not exceed recommended dose. Prolonged excessive intake of calcium, magnesium, zinc or vitamin D can cause adverse effects.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney disease, heart disease, or metabolic disorders — consult your healthcare provider before use.
Keep out of reach of children; accidental ingestion of large amounts of calcium or other minerals can be harmful.
Store below 25–30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use. Do not use after expiry date printed on the pack.
Q: Can I take OSTAMAN PLUS every day?
A: Occasional use is common for antacid relief; for daily supplementation speak to your doctor — long-term dosing should be medically supervised.
Q: Can I take this with other supplements?
A: Avoid taking calcium or zinc at the exact same time as some antibiotics or bisphosphonates — space doses or consult your pharmacist.
Q: Is OSTAMAN PLUS suitable for children?
A: A paediatrician should advise dose and suitability. Do not give adult doses to children without medical guidance.
Q: When should I see a doctor?
A: If acidity persists despite treatment, or you experience severe abdominal pain, vomiting, blood in stool, signs of allergy or symptoms of high calcium, consult a clinician.
Q: Does it cause constipation?
A: Calcium can cause constipation in some people; magnesium may counterbalance this effect for some patients. Maintain hydration and discuss with your doctor if it occurs.
